Begin with Dry Skin Brushing

It is beneficial to do "dry skin brushing" (see following pages) immediately before each enema,
making up to four passes over each body surface. If you are not accustomed to skin brushing
regularly, only make one pass over the body. This stimulates the adrenal glands, so the lymph
mucoid will pass into the colon. As soon as an enema is done the channels for the flow open up,
allowing some lymphatic detoxification to take place as well.

Procedure

It is best to do an enema first thing in the morning (afternoon and evening is ok just be aware if
you have any effects from the caffeine) after a bowel movement so the bowel is empty. It helps
to first clean out the bowel with a water-only enema, which is immediately emptied. The goal is
to have two enemas, not exceeding 1/2 a quart (2 cups) each, that you are able to hold for 12 to 15
minutes each. Usually 2 or 3 times will use up all of the enema, but that is not your goal. The goal
is being able to hold it for 12 to 15 minutes. You can do the whole quart at once if you can hold
it for the duration.

You will need the following materials:

  • Use an enema bag, which has a long hose, clamp and nozzle or tip on it. For an enema bag there must be a place to hang it up at door knob level or about 2 feet above the floor because it works on gravity. Do not hang the enema bag too high, as on a shower head, because it will be too forceful as the coffee rushes in. It should flow very gently into the rectum.
  •  Coconut oil as a lubricant.
  • Stainless steel cooking pot.
  • 2 tablespoons of organic coffee fully caffeinated, drip grind coffee - do not use non-organic coffee.
  •  1 quart of filtered water. Chlorinated water will destroy the intestinal flora inside your colon. You can boil tap water for 30 minutes in an uncovered pot to remove the chlorine, or leave an open jug of water for 24 hours to get rid of the chlorine.
  • Ice cubes made of filtered water to cool down the coffee.
  • An old towel, only used for doing enemas. They can get stained with coffee.
  • A large plastic bag to protect the floor.
  • Cotton cloth of some kind, i.e. cheese cloth or cotton muslin for straining out the coffee grounds. Do not use paper filters because the fibres will transfer into the coffee.
  • Funnel or pitcher for putting the liquid in the enema bag.

How to make the coffee:

  1. Put slightly less than 1 quart of filtered water in a pan (allowing for extra liquid from the ice
cubes) and bring it to a boil.
  2. Turn off and add 2 flat tablespoons of coffee (or the coffee amount that was prescribed for you). Let it steep for five minutes.
  3. Remove the pan of coffee from the burner.
  4.  Add about 3 ice cubes to settle the coffee grounds to the bottom of the pot, and it also cools thenliquid.
  5. Strain the liquid by pouring it through cotton cloth, cheese cloth or cotton muslin.
  6. Continue to cool the liquid, adding ice cubes one at a time until it is as close to body
temperature as possible. Test it with your finger. If you cool it off too much you can re-heat it to the correct temperature. It should not be too warm or too cold because it will cause the body to expel it too quickly.

*You can also make coffee in a drip coffee maker the night before and warm it in the morning, or
use a French press.

Take the enema bag to the sink, and clamp the tubing so it is closed. Using a funnel or pitcher fill
it. Loosen the clamp so the coffee will run out to the end of the tip and re-clamp the bag when all
the air has been removed from the enema tubing.

How to administer the enema:

  1. Lie down on towel on the floor on your back, or on your right side, whichever is more
    comfortable.
  2. Lubricate the tip or nozzle with coconut oil.
  3. Gently insert the tip or nozzle of the enema bag into the anus about 4 inches.
  4. Release the clamp and let the first 1/2 quart (2 cups maximum) of coffee flow in. Clamp off the
tubing as soon as there is the slightest amount of discomfort or fullness. Clamp off the tubing
when 1/2 of the liquid has flowed in.
  5. Do not change positions or use an incline board to cause the enema to enter further into the
colon; this defeats the purpose of this type of enema.
  6. Try to retain the enema for at least 12 minutes or more, however, do not force yourself to retain it if you feel that you can't. When you have clamped the tubing, remove the catheter tip and void when you have to.
  7. Repeat No. 2 — 5 above.
  8. When you have finished your session, rinse out the bag and hang it up to dry. Periodically run
boiling water or 1/2 water and 1⁄2 hydrogen peroxide through the empty bag to discourage mold growth when not in use.

* Try to retain the enema for a minimum of 12 or more minutes. However do not force yourself to
retain it if you feel that you can't. When you have clamped the tubing, remove the catheter tip and
void when you have to. It is best to hold it for at least 12 minutes each time. After you have
emptied the bowel, proceed with the remaining 1/2 quart and likewise hold that for at least 12
minutes, if able, then void.

If you feel wired or hyper, or experience a rapid pulse or irregular heartbeats after a coffee
enema, you should reduce the amount of coffee, usually by half and increase it after doing about
6 enemas. Be sure that your water is a good clean chemical-free spring, well, or filtered water.
Your gallbladder may empty after doing a coffee enema you may hear or feel a squirting out and
emptying of the gallbladder. This will happen just under the right rib cage, or sometimes more
closely to the midline. If after doing 6-7 enemas you haven't felt or heard the gall bladder release,
consider gradually making the coffee stronger, but do not exceed 8 tablespoon per quart.

You could also increase the volume of coffee used, such as 1 1/2 quarts (6 cups), using 3 cups
each for two fillings in one session. Sometimes, 3 enemas (2 cups or less each), rather than 2
enemas in one session are more beneficial for some people.

How a Coffee Enema Detoxifies:

The large colon is the last part of the intestines, before reaching the rectum. The large colon is in
a "S" shape. By the time stool gets to this part of the colon, most nutrients have been absorbed
back into the bloodstream. The large colon has important functions, including:

  • Balances the body's water and electrolytes.
  • Manufactures some B vitamins and vitamin K.

The effects of a coffee enema are different than a saline (salt) enema. The most important
difference between a saline enema and a coffee enema is the presence of caffeine in the coffee.
Caffeine, theophylline and theobromine, combine to stimulate the relaxation of smooth muscles
causing dilation (opening up) of blood vessels and bile ducts.

The effects of having a coffee enema are not the same as drinking coffee. The veins of the anus
are very close to the surface of the tissue. The caffeine is therefore absorbed more quickly (and in
higher concentration) than it is in when coffee is drunk.

Additionally, coffee has a chemical makeup that is stimulative. The enzymes in coffee, known as
palmitates, help the liver carry away the toxins in bile acid. The coffee is absorbed into the
hemorrhoidal vein (in the anus), and then it is taken up to the liver by the portal vein. With the
bile ducts dilated, bile carries toxins away to the gastro-intestinal tract. Simultaneously, peristaltic
activity (movement of the bowel) is encouraged because of the flooding of the lower colon. Thus,
when the colon is evacuated, the toxins and bile are carried out of the body.

The caffeine from the coffee is absorbed into this circulatory system and goes directly to the liver
where it acts as a very strong detoxifier. It decongests the liver, and causes it to dump its toxins. It
causes the liver to produce more bile (which contains processed toxins) and stimulates the gall
bladder to dump its contents which flows directly into the small intestine for elimination. This
frees up the liver, enabling it to process toxins more efficiently, particularly candida toxins and
those caused by killing off candida. The coffee only goes to the liver, and does not circulate
throughout the body so it does not act like drinking caffeine would.

Caffeine also stimulates an enzyme used by the liver to make its detoxification pathways run.
This enzyme is used to form glutathione (an amino acid), which is one of the main components
that enable toxins to be eliminated via the bile into the small intestine. Therefore a coffee enema
speeds up detoxification and minimizes the backlog of detoxified substances.

DRY SKIN BRUSHING

The skin plays a vital role in ridding the body of toxins and impurities. Dry skin brushing is one
of the best techniques to open up the pores of the skin, and to stimulate and detoxify the
lymphatic system.

The skin is the largest organ in the body, and is responsible for one-fourth of the body's
detoxification each day. It also makes it one of the most important elimination organs! For this
reason the skin is also known as the "3rd" kidney, with the lungs being known as the 2nd kidney.
Our circulatory system has its own pump (our heart) to move blood through our bodies but our
lymphatic system does not. It primarily relies on our movement to assist it. Typically, the more
active we are physically the better condition our lymphatics will be.

Skin brushing helps move lymph fluid and gives us a jump-start on health. When the pores are
not clogged with dead cells and the lymphatic system is cleansed, the body is able to carry out its
important function of eliminating toxins and waste material.
Under normal circumstances the skin eliminates more than one pound of waste products every
day. If the skin becomes inactive with its pores clogged with millions of dead cells and other
debris, toxins will remain in the body. This puts undue stress on the other eliminative organs,
mainly the kidneys and liver, making them increase their activity. Eventually they become
overworked.

Skin brushing helps exfoliate and invigorate our skin too. It increases our blood supply to the area
bringing with it nourishment and oxygen. Dry skin brushing will not only help increase
circulation and elimination of toxins, but will also make a huge difference to the quality of your
skin and it will look and feel healthier.

Dry skin brushing improves the surface circulation of the skin and keep the pores of the skin
open, encouraging your body to discharge metabolic wastes.
Dry skin-brushing - dry meaning not in the bath - will change the health of your whole body by
helping it get rid of toxins.

Benefits of dry skin brushing:

  • stimulates the lymphatic system
  •  cleans toxins from the lymphatic system
  • helps digestion
  • stimulates circulation
  • increases cell renewal
  •  strengthens the immune system
  •  tightens the skin
  • removes dead skin layers and other debris collected in its pores

Use the Right Kind of Brush

The brush used should be a long-handled, bath-type brush. It is essential that it contain natural
bristles and not synthetic ones. Synthetic bristles will scratch the surface of the skin and are harsh
and irritating. The brush should be kept dry and not used for bathing.
Thoroughly wash the brush with soap and water every couple of weeks. Always allow the brush
to dry out when not in use.

How to Do Dry Skin Brushing

The body should be dry, and the brush should pass once over every part of the body except the
face.

The best time to do skin brushing is before showering or bathing at least once a day, and twice, if
possible.

Do not wet the skin since it will not have the same effect because this stretches the skin.
The skin should not become red. If it does, you are probably brushing too hard.
There should be no back and forth motion, circular motion, scrubbing, or massaging - one clean
sweep does it. Use long gentle, but firm, stokes.

The direction of the brushing should generally be towards the lower abdomen.
To brush the skin, use long gentle, but firm, strokes

  • Start at the feet and legs brushing upwards to your groin.
  • Then do your hands and go up your arms to the armpits.
  • Then brush upwards on your buttocks.
  • Brush down the neck, chest and trunk.
  • Brush your lower abdomen towards the center.
  •  It is permissible to brush across the top of the shoulders and upper back as the best contact
with the skin is made that way.
  • Do not brush your face.
  • Brush the breasts very lightly, avoiding the nipples.

Additional information

If you haven't done skin brushing before it is wise to start with only one pass over the skin's
surface. Over time you can gradually increase the number of strokes done during each skin
brushing session. The reason is that too much stimulation can be too hard on the body.

And always use long gentle, but firm, strokes. Remember that your skin should not turn red,
which means the pressure on your strokes is too heavy. The idea is to stimulate and not to irritate
the skin.

Many people may find large amounts of lymph mucoid in their stools a day or two after
beginning skin brushing. This is the emptying out of the backlog of mucoid from the lymphatic
system and is the effect of detoxifying the lymph system.
